La Mesa Roja is situated on a high vantage point overlooking the breathtaking mesa lined Jemez River Valley with awesome red rock mesas that glow in the last sun of the day.
This high desert climate has four distinct seasons with annual average high temperatures of 75° and lows of 40°.
The annual average humidity is 47%. There is on average, less than 10" of precipitation (including winter snows) per year. This is the high end of the Sonoran desert.
But even in the winter, the primary colors; red rock mesas, green piñons, and blue skies are as intense as they are in the other three seasons.
